I honestly can't believe it's been TWO YEARS since I started Writer's Digest. Two-years-younger-me had begged and begged for a blog. She wished upon stars and read other blogs, imagining what it would be like to have her own. And then her parents finally said yes, and she started Writer's Digest!
I can't believe how much my blog has progressed! The difference in my posts is huge (at least to me), the design has gotten better, the content, the quality, all of it. It's hard to believe it's been two years, but the time difference really shows in the overall standard of my blog.
My blog used to be something I would only do occasionally, just on the odd weekend where I was free, but now it's something I want to do and spend a lot of time perfecting. That's how you can tell I really started to love it.
Like in my 1st Blog Birthday post, we're going to display some stats of my blog. I'm happy to say that they have improved greatly since last year. :-)
MOST POSTS EVER- March 2016 and December 2015 are tied with 8 POSTS!
LEAST POSTS EVER- May 2015 with 0 POSTS, but at least I warned you that I wouldn't be posting that month. The least for the 2nd year is May 2016, with 2 POSTS.
MOST COMMENTS ON A POST- My first ever post holds the record, with 20 comments. I tried to break it on last year's 1st Birthday Post, but only got 14. CAN WE DO IT THIS YEAR?!?! Comment if you would like to help me try. :-)
MOST EXCITING THING TO HAPPEN TO ME- I won an ARC of Heather Vogel Frederick's Mother Daughter Book Camp. I was absolutely truly over the moon and thrilled that something like that could happen to someone like little ole me. It's out now, and by the way, is amazing!!
AUTHORS MET THIS YEAR- I met Lindsey Cummings and P.J. Hoover, both of which were very kind and autographed their books for me. You can read the post I wrote about that experience byclicking here.
All in all, the blogging year and bookish-person-year was very successful for me. Squeee!
#19: My friend is saving up for a ukulele, and I'm happy for her because she's been really wanting one and she's already really good.
#20: SUMMER VACATION IS STRETCHING OUT AHEAD OF ME IN THE MOST GLORIOUS MANNER POSSIBLE!

Happy Summer!Olivia, you don't capitalize summer. Get with the program. Get ready for the hot sun, evenings spent at the pool, and popsicles galore(what??). Ahhhh...
Welcome to the Writer's Digest, a blog written especially for you: aspiring authors and ravenous readers! when you try so hardTo start off, how about some book recommendations to stick your sunscreened noses into this summer? I thought I was so cool, saying "sunscreened noses." News flash: people don't wear sunscreen inside. Which is where you read. Feel free to add more in the comments.
Olivia's June Top Ten
1.) The Candymakers by: Wendy Mass
This will appeal to you if you're a fan of realistic fiction that has the power to transport you to the setting of the book. Wendy Mass does an outstanding job of creating visuals with descriptions! the book is just fabulous! there we go!
2.) The Lightning Thief by: Rick Riordan
Modern mythology at its best (ooh, that was nice), this book is witty (aka funny) and will have you at the edge of your seat! This is a must-read!!as are all of these...duh.
3.) Escape Under the Forever Sky by: Eve Yohalem
A former Texas Bluebonnet book (2012-2013) this adventurous realistic fiction novel paints a perfect portrait of Lucy Hoffman and her amazing yet terrifying experiences.there is not near enough information in this miniature review for someone to actually want to read it. I am very sorry for my inept self.
4.) The Mysterious Benedict Society by: Trenton Lee Stewart
"Like the Potter books, his story goes beyond mere adventures, delving into serious issues." -Booklist.This is certainly true! Amazing beyond words, I encourage you to branch out to the rest of the series, too. yas! love it still!
5.) Welcome to Camden Falls by: Ann M. Martin
Just the beginning to the incredible Main Street series, Welcome to Camden Falls will definitely be delicious for your reading taste buds!uh heheheh...heh...no. This book is highly recommended.by me, your glorious bookworm!
6.) Warriors by: Erin Hunter
There are many different series, but I would start with the first series, about Rusty, the curious kitty who may change ThunderClan forever...read more to find out! this also has no information. IT'S ABOUT CATS. IT'S GOOD. THUNDERCLAN IS LIKE A HOUSE IN HARRY POTTER. (sort of)
7.) Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls: Moving Day by: Meg Cabot
A nine-year-old girl, Allie Finkle has just the same experiences as any other girl in the real world: friendship problems, moving to a new school and wanting a local restaurant to free the turtle they keep in the lobby. This is an excellent realistic fiction read! this one is actually ok. bravo Olivia!
8.) My Last Best Friend by: Julie Bowe
Ida May is upset when her best friend moves and seems to forget about her. What will she do? I recommend this for girls looking for a short but sweet book. I found this under a couch and then read the whole thing in one day. it's amazing and the rest of the series is great too, who knows why I didn't say that when I first wrote this.
9.) The Year of the Dog by: Grace Lin
I can never get enough of this book! It's one of those books that you feel like you can read over and over again without getting sick of it. still is. You'll have a great time diving into The Year of the Dog. except don't dive, because it may cause paper cuts.
10.) Every Soul a Star by: Wendy Mass
A bittersweet how? oh yeah... yet incredible story, three people who never would have spoken to each other come together because of a solar eclipse. Read it to find out what happens!this is so helpful. OF COURSE YOU READ IT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS!
I hope you enjoy those books! Check back soon for another post. :)

And that's my first post ever. Pretty sad, right? A few of the descriptions were good, but others had me shaking my head in shame. I hope you enjoyed that annotated copy of it, though. :-)

The prompt for you guys is sort of like in my story. Write a story that ties in characters from your favorite books! It can be a diary entry. A single chapter. A novel. A short story. Anything! Just have fun with it, and share it in the comments.
