Hope you enjoyed that random picture!
1.) I write short stories. And when I say short, I mean short. Not like the "short" stories in books, where they're like a whole chapter long. Short for me means I pack a beginning, middle, and end into one or two pages. Well, sometimes more. At the beginning of the year in English, we were supposed to write a "lost chapter" for the book we read over summer vacation. Well. I wrote four pages. Um, most people in my class wrote a paragraph. It was slightly awkward.
2.) I write really short novels. You know- they aren't that short, but they also aren't any more than ten pages. And they're always in progress. I'm not very good at making my stories end...
3.) I write diary entries, fake and real. Well, mostly they're fake because I'm terrible at good habits. That's why sometimes there'll be a month break between blog posts and other times like a day. I love to write fake diary entries about different time periods, specifically during wars because there's factual information I can sneak in there as well.
4.) I write tiny snippets of dialogue that I might use someday. Sometimes as I'm lying (lying? laying?) in bed, something will hit me. Maybe it's a sentence, maybe it's five, but it's always something that I know I'll forget if I don't write it then and there. So I turn on my lamp, jump out of the warm, cozy covers and scamper over to my desk and scribble it down. Who knows? Maybe that tidbit about Phillip will help me someday.
5.) I write blog posts. Obviously. This is a blog post. I write others. I post them. You read them.
6.) I write poems. Okay, poetry isn't really my thing. I'm just not the rhyme-y type, but I do enjoy free verse. I love to just say whatever I want and be able to switch lines whenever. Maybe there's some sort of rule about that, but if there is, I don't follow them. The person that's really good at poetry is Anna- ask her if you need help!
7.) I write random character ideas. So many people have suggested this to me- you pick a random name and then write everything you know about them off the top of your head. It really helps when you need a main character because you can just spill out anything and everything!
I hope you liked this post, even thought it was COUGH COUGH late COUGH COUGH. Anyhow, see you! Christmas posts are being cooked up as you read....
