.) I write because it's a way to have the things I wish for. That sounds kind of weird or cliche, but it's true. I've always wanted to have a bunch of siblings- and if I give one of my characters a lot of brothers and sisters, it's like a little part of me now has the siblings I wanted. (Not that you aren't awesome, Carter. I just want more!) I've always had a dream (a farfetched, never to happen dream) to be a gymnast, and if I make one of my characters a gymnast- now I'm one too!
.) I write to reach the goals I've set for myself. Ever since I was little, I remember wanting to see my name on the spine of a book. I would look at my bookshelf, see all the names, and think that someday I might be able to have a shelf of books all with MY name on them.
.) I write to escape into a different world. Once again, super cliche, but super true. When you read, you get to go into a different world, and when you write, you get to CREATE a world. How cool is that? Even if you don't think of yourself as a "writer," I bet you still love disappearing into another place. Imagine doing that with your own world!
.) I write because I want to give to others. This is sort of the same as the one above...So many authors have made amazing places that I've spent a lot of my childhood in, and it would be so awesome to be that person how gave a kid that escape.
.) I write because it makes me happy! I believe the things you choose to do should make you feel confident and good about yourself. Writing makes me feel that way, so I do it!
.) I write because I don't have to be an author to do it. I'm not a published author. I hope to somebody be one, but if I'm not, it doesn't mean I can't be a writer. When I write, it doesn't have to be for money, or it doesn't even have to be good. It just has to be for me.
.) I write because I love it. When you do something and it gives you that tingly feeling you get when you're excited and happy, then you know you love it. When you think about all the time, you know you love it. When you look forward to it and make up your own fantasies in your head, you love it. And that's how I feel about writing.
