Hallo everybody! Today I am here with my best friend, Anna. We are going to do a joint post on just rambling stuff because we are currently bored and my blog is the most interesting thing we have to do. STOP LISTENING TO ADELE ANNA. We have decided to pick a topic, such as music, and then write our opinions on it. So. Let's get started, because obviously that's what you do when you write a blog post. MUSIC TASTES Olivia: My favorite singer is and has been Taylor Swift since I was little. I've been to three of her concerts, and every time she gives inspirational speeches and thanks all her fans for coming, and I feel as if she is a genuinely nice person. I love all her songs, from the ones that are country to the pop/80s ones. I also love country music (Carrie Underwood has been a favorite of mine forever) and Christian music (Matthew West is my favorite on that). And then I love classical music. Rhapsody in Blue is amazing, and recently I have really been liking Pachelbel's Canon. It's beautiful- and my parents told me it played at their wedding, so that makes it even more special. Anna: My favorite singer at the moment is Louis Armstrong. (Olivia is now laying on my shoulder and sobbing and hyperventilating because I didn't say Taylor Swift.) One song that I am listening to on repeat is When You're Smiling by Louis Armstrong. I went to New Orleans over Spring Break (click there to see the trip video I made) and L-O-V-E-D it. Go if you get the chance! Anyways, while I was there we heard a lot of jazz and that made me love Louis Armstrong. I like Ella Fitzgerald too, and some modern artists like Taylor Swift, but I would have to say that I prefer music from the past over current songs. I also play the viola so I'm partial to classical music. TRAVELING TASTES Olivia: The only places I've really ever traveled are the beach (Alabama/Florida), California, and Tennessee. But the states I've been to in passing are Oklahoma, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Arkansas. (Unlike Anna. She's been to a lot of places.) My happy place is the beach, and I hope to be able to go there throughout all my life. When I visited California, I fell in love with San Francisco- both the beach we went to near it and the mountains that were everywhere. Sometime in my life I hope to go to Hawaii, because Anna's told me it's beautiful. I also want to go to Austria for the Sound of Music tour, as well as other places around Europe. It would be amazing to go to a mission trip to a country in Africa or South America to see and help people there. Anna: As Olivia said, I've been to a LOT of states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming. To be fair, California, New Jersey and Washington were just connecting flights on the way to other places. But in the future I want to travel all over the world. I really want to visit Germany (I'm learning German) and the rest of Europe and other cool places like Bora Bora that I'm not even sure what continent they're in. But I LOVE traveling and I want to spend a long time traveling when I get old enough. FAVORITE MEMORY Olivia: I have a lot of good memories, but there's one that really stands out. I was at the beach with my family, and it was sunset, so my mom, dad, sister and I were one of the few people still out there. Most people, including the rest of my relatives, had already gone into the condo. This was when I was younger, so I was scared of the water. Maybe from watching Soul Surfer too many times or something. But that was the night my fear disappeared and I was just playing in the water with my family. We were laughing, splashing water, and I kept thinking about how beautiful God's creation of the ocean was. It was a really serene, peaceful time in my usually busy life. Whenever I'm feeling stressed I try and remember that moment and how everything was just- perfect. Anna: There's been a lot of times in my life that I could choose from and describe as my best memory. One of THE best ones was on October 27, 2015. So there was a lot of complicated circumstances leading up this point in time. I had been playing on one softball team for 9 years and I loved my coach and my team members. The night of October 27 we had a double-header and it was the last night of the season. After one game but before the other my dad told me that the next game would be my last one because I was getting too old and the team was staying down a year. So there would basically be no team for me to play on. I was crying and it was like the worst time ever. So the next game rolls around, and we're playing our rival team and I'm crying on and off the whole game thinking "This is the last time I'll ever play second base" and stuff like that. We were losing also. We ended up tying the game in extra innings, and we had a runner on second with two outs and of course I was up to bat, and everything was just weighing on me and I knew I would let everyone down. BUT THEN I HIT THE BALL FARTHER THAN I"VE EVER EVER EVER HIT IN 9 YEARS, and the girl on second base scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you don't really understand softball this probably won't mean much to you, but we won the game because of me and it felt so so so good. We hope you enjoyed this co-post! We would love to hear your answers in the comments! See you there!
