If you read my blog regularly, then you'll definitely recognize the name Rhapsody in Blue. As you should! It's only the best classical piece of music in the world!!! If you've never heard of it, it's okay, I'll forgive you this once. Just listen to this video as you read this post. (It's sixteen minutes long, so don't worry about finishing it.)
Rhapsody: an effusively enthusiastic or ecstatic expression of feeling.
In short, pretty happy.
So why in blue? Isn't blue supposed to be the sad color? If you ask me, Rhapsody in Pink sounds a lot more cheerful and upbeat. (I guess I'm biased though, because pink is my favorite color, haha.) But then again blue gives this interesting melancholy feeling and delicateness to the title. So that's why I decided not to research that part, because I kind of wanted to just imagine why it's in blue instead of actually know.
Moving on....
I love this song because I never get bored of it. (That sounded weird. Let me rephrase that.) I know every little "DA DA DA" and "DAAAAAAAAAAA!" in the whole song, but instead of thinking here we go again when they come, I'm thinking here we go again!!!!! This is a super great song to listen to as you do that dreaded homework because it doesn't distract you, but it provides a little background happiness.
I want to use this paragraph to thank a few people. Mrs. Rohman, for showing us the Fantasia version in music class last year, and to Anna for making me listen to Rhapsody in Blue SO MANY TIMES that I actually started to like it. ;)
Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for a new post!!
Until next time...
