- Dialogue ("*insert name here*")
- Sound effects ("Crash!" "Beep-beep!" "Ding-dong!")
- Using your descriptive senses. ('Fall leaves in brilliant shades of red, orange and gold carpet the sidewalk and a rustling breeze wafts the scent of fresh blueberry scones into my nose.')
- Question ("Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a grocery store?")
Here's a lead that I used in one of my stories. You can finish what you think is going to happen in a "short story" in the comments. If you want to make it a full-sized story, just do a little bit of it.
I wake up sweating and thrust my covers off wildly. Today's the day! My clock reads 5:13 am. Today's the day! I scramble out of bed and thrust on a pair of holey jeans and an old t-shirt. TODAY'S THE DAY!
Here's what to include in your story: What's your character's name? What does she/he look like? Why is "today" such a big day? Otherwise, just write whatever you want. :)
Have fun!!
