Lately I've been reading sci-fi books for a school project. I don't know if this book counts as sci-fi, exactly, but it's Dystopian, which was a space on the "bingo board" we had to read. Anyway, I found in the library, and told myself I would finish it no matter what. You always read two pages and then stop in sci-fi, I told myself sternly. You're going to read the whole thing even if it's the worst book ever! (Confession: if it was the worst book ever, I probably wouldn't finish it even after I said that, haha.) Enough stalling! Behold the book review!
Title: The One Safe Place
Author: Tania Unsworth
Amount of Pages: 304
Here I usually put the blurb from the flap (or back, if it's a paperback) but unfortunately I've already returned it to the library. You can click HERE to read about it, though!
My Review:
There's no doubt about it, this baby was goooood. When I first saw it, I didn't think it was going to be that great. Okay, maybe, but great? Probably because I don't love sci-fi and I was reluctantly doing the project for school already. But since I love to read, I got it anyway.
I have no regrets.
The One Safe Place is like...like....I can't think of an analogy. Very unexpected. I would know what was going to happen, and then something totally different happened. Or I wouldn't know what was going to happen, and then I'd still be surprised by the turnout. AMAZING PLOT TWISTS! You think you know a character, then they change on you. You think you someone betrayed someone else, then you find out it was a fluke. How can I describe this? You just need to read it!
Overall, I'm going to have to give this 4 stars. As I said above, it was incredibly suspenseful and I was on the edge of my seat. I can see myself reading it again, but maybe not buying it for my own bookshelf.
Until next time...
